Hello fellow freedom lovers! Reaching out to you all, so close to Thanksgiving, to say isn't one of the rights we are so thankful for our freedom of speech? I know many of us have experienced censorship in recent years and silencing voices is a huge goal for tyrants.

Issuing a call to action to stop the abridging of free speech in Walla Walla, WA.

As many may already be aware, a man named Henry Contreras was fined on November 13th, 2025 in Walla Walla District Court by Judge Kristian Hedine $5,000 for not cleaning up his sidewalk chalk by sundown. A $500 fine was issued for each witness testimony given. Henry was not afforded a lawyer since this is a civil matter and it was not required of them to do so. 
There are articles regarding this in the Walla Walla Union Bulletin. 
Henry’s chalk writings involve biblically based and conservative topics. These topics have triggered downtown business owners and public servants for many years. The ordinance was brought about due to many of the aforementioned making public comment in city hall meetings about how vile the writings are. Yet now, the city government would like us to believe this ordinance has nothing to do with the content of the messaging. 
I am asking you to speak truth in as loving a way as you can to the city council members, city attorney, and city manager. 
I would not ask of you anything I myself have not done.

1. Prayer. Henry is a Christian and so am I and we have faith that truth will prevail. Also, church leaders should be standing firm for our freedoms. Please ask your pastor to join us in holding government accountable.

2. Reaching out to make public comment in the Walla Walla City Hall meetings. They occur every two weeks and the next one is on Wednesday, December 3rd @ 6:30 pm on the 2nd floor of City Hall at 15 N 3rd St. If you are local to the area, please come in person, we’d love to meet you there. You are only given three minutes to speak and it is at the beginning of the meeting. 3. Send an email to them.

5. We have reached out to the ACLJ for legal representation. Henry only has 30 days from November 13th to file an appeal to the Walla Walla Superior Court. If you know of any other constitutional attorneys, please let us know so we may contact them. Time is of the essence.

6. Please spread the word! We have started social media groups regarding Constitutional issues with our current focus on this issue. Joining these groups are a great way to get regular updates.
